B2C is a Business-to-Customer selling model. This involves businesses directly selling a service or product to the end consumer.

What Is B2C

B2C is a Business-to-Customer selling model. This involves businesses directly selling a service or product to the end consumer. For example, a clothing retailer directly sells products to the customer but is sourcing products from another third party.

Recently, this B2C model is starting to convert into an online retail model. There are many rising e-commerce retailers offering goods and services to customers over the internet. From shopping online to booking a massage, B2C is growing digitally.

B2C businesses also include providers selling services to the customers directly, such as an online salon service, or repair service.

How B2C Works

The B2C business model is the most well-known and widely utilized business method. These businesses actually generate revenue that is distributed throughout the supply chain, which also reaches B2B vendors and manufacturers.

Ideally, a B2C supply chain starts when the retailer or provider sources products from a manufacturer. These products and services are then directly offered to the end customer, the actual users of products. Therefore, there are many layers of B2B that lead to a B2C distribution.

There’s a huge difference in the marketing and advertising utilized by B2B and B2C. B2C marketing is dedicated to invoking users’ emotions and personally connecting with the audience.

Why Is B2C Imperative

The B2C business model is imperative for the supply chain due to multiple reasons. Firstly, the entire supply chain ends at B2C. A large section of businesses meets the customer farther below in the supply chain. Therefore, if this end is not efficient, the fluctuations are felt by manufacturers, wholesalers, and other market B2B players.

Furthermore, B2C is an entirely different chain that helps market products to customers in the best possible way. It may not be feasible for a manufacturer or raw material producer to reach the end customer directly. This is why we need retail and B2C to make it possible.
